Job Description

Overview

The Police Officer position with the United States Secret Service involves providing protection for key national sites and officials in Washington, DC. Applicants may be eligible for a significant recruitment incentive of $75,000 contingent on meeting certain regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions.
  • Travel in support of Presidential and foreign heads of state missions.
  • Enforce protective responsibilities under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40 years (with exceptions for federal law enforcement service)
  • Firearm proficiency
  • Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100
  • Corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better
  • Hearing ability within specified decibel ranges
  • Ability to pass drug tests
  • Complete extensive training at designated Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers
