Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking Police Officers to join their team, requiring relocation to Washington, DC. Officers are tasked with protection duties, including safeguarding key locations and enforcing protective responsibilities as mandated by law.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions.
  • Travel in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state missions.
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as described in federal law.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age requirements (21 years or older, under 40 at referral)
  • Firearm proficiency and ability to carry a firearm
  • Visual acuity standards
  • Hearing standards
  • Ability to pass drug tests
  • Completion of 12 weeks of training at FLETC and 17 weeks at a specialized training center
