Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking a Police Officer to perform protection duties primarily in Washington, D.C. Successful candidates will be part of a diverse team committed to balancing investigative missions with protective responsibilities, ensuring the safety of high-profile locations and individuals.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions
  • Travel in support of Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age 21 and under 40 at application time
  • Firearm proficiency
  • Visual acuity: uncorrected 20/100 binocular, corrected 20/20 or better
  • Hearing ability as per specified standards
  • Pass drug test and random testing
  • Complete required training at FLETC and specialized training
