Job Description

Overview

The Police Officer role for the United States Secret Service involves providing protection for key national locations and officials. This position requires relocation to Washington, DC, where officers serve in various capacities related to security and investigative duties.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing protection for The White House Complex and other specified locations
  • Traveling in support of Presidential and foreign dignitary missions
  • Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities under Title 18, USC, Section 3056A

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40 (exceptions apply)
  • Firearm proficiency and ability to carry a firearm
  • Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular
  • Corrected visual acuity of 20/20 in each eye
  • Hearing requirements must be met
  • Ability to submit to drug testing
  • Completion of intensive training programs at designated training centers
