Overview

The Police Officer position at the United States Secret Service involves providing protection for key locations such as The White House Complex and enforcing protective responsibilities. Applicants are required to relocate to Washington, DC and may be eligible for a $75,000 recruitment incentive.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C.
  • Travel in support of Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign dignitary missions.
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age requirement: at least 21 years old and under 40 at referral
  • Ability to carry and use a firearm
  • Maintaining firearm proficiency
  • Visual acuity of 20/100 uncorrected and 20/20 corrected in each eye
  • Hearing ability within specified decibel limits
  • Completion of drug tests and training at federal law enforcement training centers
