Key responsibilities
Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies
Travel in support of Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state missions
Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A
Required skills
U.S. citizenship
Current valid U.S. driver's license
Age between 21 and 40, with exceptions for federal law enforcement service
Firearm proficiency and ability to carry a firearm
Visual acuity requirements
Hearing standards
Pass a drug test prior to appointment and random testing afterward
Complete 12 weeks of intensive training and 17 weeks of specialized training
