Overview

The Police Officer position with the United States Secret Service involves providing protection for key locations and officials, requiring a strong commitment to public safety and law enforcement. This role is primarily based in Washington, DC, and applicants must be willing to relocate.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex and other important government buildings.
  • Travel in support of Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign state missions.
  • Enforce protective responsibilities as outlined in Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40, with exceptions for federal law enforcement service
  • Firearms proficiency and capability to carry a firearm
  • Visual and hearing acuity within specified thresholds
  • Ability to pass a drug test and undergo random testing
  • Completion of extensive training programs
