Overview

The Police Officer position with the United States Secret Service involves providing protection for high-profile locations and officials, including the White House and foreign dignitaries, primarily in Washington, D.C. This role requires relocation to D.C. and offers a $75,000 recruitment incentive for eligible applicants.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions.
  • Travel in support of the Presidential and Vice Presidential missions.
  • Enforce protective responsibilities under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Ability to carry and use a firearm
  • Maintaining firearm proficiency
  • Visual and hearing acuity requirements
  • Ability to complete 12 weeks of training at FLETC and 17 weeks at the James J. Rowley Training Center
