Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking a Police Officer to provide protection at key locations in Washington, DC, including The White House Complex and foreign diplomatic missions. Candidates may receive a $75,000 recruitment incentive and must relocate to Washington, DC upon hiring.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions
  • Travel in support of Presidential and foreign heads of state missions
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40 at application
  • Proficiency in carrying and using a firearm
  • Ability to meet specific visual and hearing requirements
  • Submit to drug testing
  • Complete 12 weeks of training at FLETC and 17 weeks of specialized training
