Job Description

Overview

The Police Officer position with the Secret Service requires relocation to Washington, DC and is aimed at individuals who are courageous and dedicated to balancing investigative and protective duties. This role primarily involves providing protection for key U.S. locations and officials, alongside enforcing protective responsibilities as mandated by law.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for the White House Complex, the Vice President's Residence, and foreign diplomatic missions
  • Travel in support of Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state missions
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities under Title 18, U.S. Code

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • Minimum age of 21 and under 40 at referral
  • Proficiency in carrying and using firearms
  • Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100
  • Corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better
  • Hearing ability compliant with standards
  • Completion of drug testing and training at designated federal centers
