Job Description

Overview

The United States Secret Service is seeking a Police Officer to provide protection for key locations, including the White House and other government sites in Washington, D.C. This position includes a $75,000 recruitment incentive and requires relocation to Washington, D.C.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex and key government locations
  • Travel to support Presidential and foreign dignitary missions
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as required by law

Required skills

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Age between 21 and 40 (with possible exceptions for prior federal law enforcement service)
  • Firearm proficiency and ability to carry a firearm
  • Visual acuity standards (uncorrected 20/100, corrected 20/20)
  • Hearing standards (no more than 25 decibels in specified frequency ranges)
  • Drug testing compliance
  • Completion of intensive federal law enforcement training
