Overview

The Plumbing & Piping Estimator at Breen & Sullivan Mechanical Services Inc. is a client-facing technical expert responsible for developing and delivering plumbing and mechanical piping solutions. This role combines deep knowledge of mechanical systems with relationship management and consultative sales to create accurate and competitive proposals for various projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the technical point of contact for plumbing and piping solutions
  • Conduct detailed site visits and system evaluations
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and field conditions for solution development
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and technically detailed proposals
  • Advise customers on system options, code considerations, and lifecycle performance
  • Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, and field teams
  • Participate in kickoff meetings for complex projects
  • Maintain current knowledge of plumbing and mechanical codes and industry best practices

Required skills

  • Strong knowledge of plumbing and mechanical piping systems
  • Experience with boilers, chillers, and hydronic systems
  • Ability to review construction documents and mechanical drawings
  • Prior estimating, sales engineering, project engineering, or field supervision experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed and organized
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
