Job Description

Overview

Arlon Graphics is seeking a PLC Systems Technician to repair, maintain, and improve controls hardware and software within their organization. The role combines mechanical and electrical skills to ensure equipment operates effectively in the manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks.
  • Maintain backup copies of PLC, HMI, and drive programs.
  • Interpret and remediate equipment control systems malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical failures.
  • Perform regular maintenance on controls systems.
  • Record and maintain daily records of accomplishments.
  • Conduct electrical maintenance and repairs on various voltage systems.
  • Follow OSHA safety standards in all tasks.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams.

Required skills

  • 2+ years of related experience in PLC programming and electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to use Studio 5000 and RSLogix 500
  • Experience programming VFD PowerFlex drives and HMIs
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Knowledge of safety practices and ability to operate maintenance vehicles
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to support maintenance outside regular hours
