Job Description

Overview

Arlon Graphics is seeking a PLC Systems Technician in San Antonio, Texas, to perform maintenance, repair, and improvement of controls hardware and software within the organization. The role involves utilizing both mechanical and electrical skills to maintain equipment and improve processes for producing high-quality products.

Key responsibilities

  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks
  • Maintain backup copies of PLC, HMI, and drive programs
  • Interpret problems due to equipment malfunctions and initiate corrective actions
  • Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical failures
  • Perform regular maintenance on control systems
  • Record and maintain a daily record of accomplishments
  • Perform electrical maintenance and repairs for various voltage systems
  • Follow and maintain OSHA safety standards
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams

Required skills

  • PLC programming and troubleshooting using Studio 5000 and RSLogix 500
  • VFD PowerFlex drives programming knowledge
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot equipment efficiently
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems for equipment OEE calculations
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on proper circuit and wire functionality
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Experience with electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment
  • Capability to operate a forklift, scissor lift, and similar vehicles
