Overview

The role is for a Gastroenterologist providing locum tenens coverage at a healthcare facility in Virginia. The position offers flexible scheduling and no on-call responsibilities, which allows for a better work-life balance.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing locum coverage for gastroenterology services
  • Perform upper and lower GI endoscopy procedures
  • Conduct colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp removal
  • Execute ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic) and PEG procedures
  • Carry out liver biopsy and esophageal dilation
  • Manage bleeding and perform foreign body removal
  • Ensure compliance with vaccine requirements

Required skills

  • Proficient in upper and lower GI endoscopy
  • Experience in colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp removal
  • Skilled in ERCP, PEG, and liver biopsy procedures
  • Knowledgeable in esophageal dilation and manometry
  • Ability to manage bleeding and perform sigmoidoscopy
  • Familiarity with small bowel biopsy and foreign body removal
  • Most recent vaccinations required
