Job Description

Overview

Britt Medical Search is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgeon to join a hospital-employed practice in Portsmouth, Ohio. The ideal candidate will be fellowship-trained with expertise in shoulder and knee arthroscopy, and will have the opportunity to grow a sports medicine program within a well-established orthopedic group supported by a strong referral network.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform advanced procedures such as shoulder and knee arthroscopy, complex ligament reconstruction, and joint replacements
  • Manage a case load of 25-40 patients per day in the clinic
  • Conduct 4-8 procedures per day in the hospital
  • Lead and grow the sports medicine service line
  • Expand into elbow and hip arthroscopy and other orthopedic services
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and participate in a call schedule (1:4)

Required skills

  • Fellowship training in sports medicine
  • Expertise in shoulder and knee arthroscopy
  • Knowledge in joint replacement surgery and trauma care
  • Experience with hand surgery and pediatric outpatient procedures
  • Familiarity with office and hospital equipment such as cast saws and CPMs
