Overview

WhiteCoat Locums is seeking a Cardiovascular Surgeon for locum tenens coverage in Lufkin, Texas. This role involves ongoing call coverage across multiple facilities, focusing on inpatient surgical care, including both emergency and elective cases.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide full-scope cardiovascular surgery coverage
  • Perform cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures
  • Manage hospital rounding and inpatient surgical care
  • Be available for 24-hour call shifts
  • Harvest veins if needed for surgeries
  • Utilize hospital and clinic support resources

Required skills

  • Board Certified or truly Board Eligible
  • Active Texas medical license
  • Cardiovascular or Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Clean malpractice history
  • Experience with Cerner McKesson Cardiology and Paragon EMR systems

What the company offers

  • $215 per hour for orientation or training beyond 8 hours
  • $3895 per 24-hour on-call rate, including 4 hours gratis
  • $5840 for 24-hour holiday call, including 4 hours gratis
  • $430 per hour for callback patient contact hours
  • $640 for holiday callback hours
