Overview

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a civilian Radiation Oncology Physicist for a full-time opportunity at Kessler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. The role involves providing clinical expertise for radiation therapy equipment and ensuring quality assurance and safety compliance in a structured work environment that promotes work/life balance.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide clinical expertise for the purchase and upgrades of radiation therapy equipment
  • Conduct acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration, and periodic quality assurance of equipment
  • Measure and analyze beam data for treatment machines and ensure accurate data entry into planning systems
  • Collaborate with the treatment planning team to establish procedures
  • Perform and direct radiation dose distribution determinations for patients
  • Ensure accuracy in treatment plans, dosimetry calculations, and documentation
  • Oversee function and operation of various radiation therapy technologies
  • Ensure compliance with radiation monitoring and safety requirements
  • Direct the Radiation Oncology Physics program and act as a system administrator

Required skills

  • BLS certification
  • Certified Medical Physicist by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
  • Master's degree in Physics
  • Board Certified in Therapeutic Medical Physics
  • Experience in radiation therapy equipment and clinical expertise
