SUMO Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Adult Inpatient Psychiatry physician for locum shifts in northwestern Alabama, starting on June 29, 2026. This role involves working on inpatient and emergency consults and offers a competitive market rate, along with malpractice insurance.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide adult inpatient psychiatric care
  • Perform emergency psychiatry consults
  • Work Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM with occasional call
  • Manage an average patient load of 12 per day
  • Utilize Meditech EMR

Required skills

  • AL state license, active and unrestricted
  • DEA certification
  • Board Certification or BE in psychiatry within the last 5 years
  • BLS certification (AHA)
