Overview

UCSF Health is seeking a Pediatric Optometrist for a full-time locum position at a premier pediatric specialty facility in Oakland, California. This role involves caring for primarily pediatric patients in an outpatient and hospital-based setting, with an emphasis on pediatric optometry evaluations and management of complex populations.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct pediatric optometry evaluations and patient care
  • Perform strabismus and binocular vision examinations
  • Manage workups of pediatric ophthalmology patients
  • Fit contact lenses, preferably complex pediatric fittings

Required skills

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
  • Active California license
  • BLS certification
  • Experience with complex pediatric populations
  • Experience in pediatric optometry
  • Strabismus and binocular vision exam experience
  • Pediatric optometry residency preferred or minimum 3 years of relevant experience
