Job Description

Overview

Britt Medical Search is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible physician in Internal Medicine, IM/Ped, or Family Medicine to join their Hospitalist team in Sedalia, Missouri. The role involves managing a range of patients in various care units, providing 7on/7off shifts with an average daily patient load of 12-15 per physician.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage an average patient census of 15-16 per physician
  • Cover service via phone following rounds unless on-site support is needed
  • Coordinate with advance practice providers for night shifts
  • Assist with patient admissions, including morning rounds and handling nighttime cases
  • Respond to emergency calls within a 30-minute time frame
  • Collaborate with ER and specialists for patient procedures

Required skills

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, IM/Ped or Family Medicine
  • Experience in hospitalist care and patient management
  • Knowledge of EMR systems, specifically Meditech 6.1
  • Procedural skills for central line placement and vent management (optional)
  • Team collaboration and effective communication skills
