Overview

This position offers a long-term locum tenens opportunity for a Gastroenterology Physician in Virginia, focusing on outpatient and telehealth services within an established healthcare system. The role includes a stable weekday schedule with no call responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient GI coverage
  • Conduct telehealth visits
  • Perform upper and lower GI endoscopy procedures
  • Execute colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy
  • Preferably conduct ERCP and advanced GI procedures
  • Supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
  • Handle admissions as needed

Required skills

  • Board Certified in Gastroenterology
  • Fellowship trained
  • Active Virginia medical license
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • EGD
  • Colonoscopy
  • ERCP
  • EUS
  • PEG placement
  • Esophageal dilation/manometry
  • Liver biopsy
  • Advanced GI procedural experience preferred
