Overview

A rural hospital in northern Maine is seeking a hospitalist physician for locum tenens coverage. The position requires 24-hour solo in-house coverage with a potential for additional shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide 24-hour in-house coverage as a hospitalist
  • Perform required procedures including intubations, vent management, and central line insertions
  • Manage patient care for all ages
  • Respond to emergencies and provide call support overnight

Required skills

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospital Medicine
  • Experience with intubation, ventilator management, and central line insertion
  • Proficient in lumbar puncture, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
  • Active Maine medical license
  • Current DEA certification
  • ACLS and PALS certifications
  • Familiarity with EMR Meditech Expanse
