Job Description

Overview

The Physician role focuses on providing emergency medicine services in Valdez, Alaska, as a locum tenens position. The primary duties include clinical coverage for a Critical Access Hospital, managing emergency cases, and participating in overnight call rotations.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide clinical coverage for a Critical Access Hospital in a rural setting
  • Perform Emergency Department duties and outpatient/primary care services
  • Manage OB cases and perform C-sections if needed in emergency situations
  • Coordinate patient transfers to higher levels of care as necessary
  • Participate in overnight beeper call rotations

Required skills

  • Board Certified (BC) required
  • Universal License (IMLC)
  • DEA registration
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, NRP
  • Rural health experience (ED, Hospitalist, OB) preferred
  • Experience with Epic EMR system
