Job Description

Overview

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PRN) at Wellstar Health Systems collaborates with a Physical Therapist to implement treatment programs aimed at improving patient mobility, strength, and coordination. This role involves providing care, education, and documentation to help patients recover from injuries or diseases in a patient-centered environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement physical therapy treatment plans under direction of the Physical Therapist
  • Select appropriate treatment activities to progress patients towards goals
  • Revise goals and plans of care in collaboration with the Physical Therapist and patient's family
  • Provide ongoing patient and family education and training
  • Document each treatment session according to departmental protocols
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information
  • Participate in professional development and mandatory education activities
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and required inservices
