Overview

The Physical Therapist-Per Diem role at Holy Cross Hospital focuses on rehabilitating patients in an inpatient setting. The position involves assessing patient needs, planning and executing individualized treatment programs, and providing education to patients and families to enhance recovery and mobility.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs
  • Administer manual exercises, massage, and traction to relieve pain and improve strength
  • Conduct and support research in physical therapy practices
  • Discharge patients when goals are met and ensure appropriate follow-up care
  • Evaluate treatment effects and adjust plans for maximum benefit
  • Document goals, anticipated progress, and treatment plans
  • Instruct patients and families on home treatment procedures
  • Review physician referrals and medical records to determine therapy required

Required skills

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Florida
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association
  • Experience in patient assessment and rehabilitation techniques
