Overview

SSM Health is seeking a Physical Therapist to join their team at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri. The role involves evaluating and conducting physical therapy treatment programs tailored to address movement dysfunction and pain from various health issues. The position offers a flexible schedule with full-time day shifts and a supportive clinic environment focused on outpatient therapy.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients' conditions
  • Establish, revise, and evaluate plans of care involving patients and families
  • Implement therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques
  • Provide education to patients, families, and staff as necessary
  • Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care
  • Oversee activities of physical therapy assistants and students
  • Maintain documentation detailing patient responses and therapy needs
  • Work safely and remain alert in a clinical environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification required within 90 days of employment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Strong patient assessment and documentation skills
  • Flexibility in adapting to patient needs
