Overview

The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School is seeking a full-time academic physician in the Department of Neurology to develop a comprehensive neurorehabilitation program. The role involves diagnosing and treating patients with neurological injuries while contributing to education and interdisciplinary collaboration within a growing medical school environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical content expert on adult neurorehabilitation
  • Participate in the development and growth of a new comprehensive neurorehabilitation program
  • Develop partnerships with referring physicians, hospitals, and ancillary providers
  • Assist in creating a data and evaluation infrastructure for assessing clinical quality and cost outcomes
  • Participate in medical education curricula related to neurology and neurorehabilitation
  • Train and mentor medical students and residents
  • Foster an atmosphere of scientific and academic inquiry
  • Collaborate on multidisciplinary, value-based care models
  • Engage in departmental activities as required

Required skills

  • Current board certification by the American Board Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas
  • Outstanding clinical teaching skills
  • Innovative self-starter with a commitment to excellence
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Eligibility for appointment as Assistant or Associate or Professor rank in the Department of Neurology
