Overview

As a Pharmacy Technician at UnitedHealth Group, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist. This role focuses on medication preparation, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, all while collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare medications for pharmacist review prior to dispensing
  • Perform data/order entry and verification of patient information
  • Provide phone coverage and ensure proper triage of calls
  • Deliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets
  • Maintain medication inventory by restocking and monitoring controlled substances
  • Support medication safety initiatives through double-checks and proper documentation
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff for timely medication delivery
  • Comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards

Required skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Registered or ability to become registered as a pharmacy technician in Oregon
  • Experience interacting with healthcare professionals in a medical setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
