Overview

Optum is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician in Portland, Oregon, who will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The role involves preparing and delivering medications while ensuring compliance with pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare medications for pharmacist review prior to dispensing
  • Perform data/order entry and verification of patient information
  • Provide phone coverage and ensure proper triage of calls
  • Deliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs)
  • Maintain medication inventory by restocking and tracking controlled substances
  • Support medication safety initiatives through double-checks, labeling, and documentation
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff for timely medication delivery
  • Comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards

Required skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Registered or ability to become registered as a pharmacy technician in Oregon
  • Experience interacting with healthcare professionals, preferably in a medical clinic
  • Experience as a pharmacy technician
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
