Job Description

Overview

As a Pharmacy Technician at PharmScript, part of the Optum family, you will play a vital role in delivering safe and timely medication to long-term and post-acute care facilities. This position involves preparing prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist and ensuring compliance with regulations, all while being part of a dedicated team focused on caring for patients.

Key responsibilities

  • Fills daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under supervision
  • Processes returned drugs and recycles/disposes as per procedure
  • Prepacks frequently ordered medications and labels them as needed
  • Packages materials and products manually
  • Pulls/picks medications from storage areas
  • Applies labels to blister cards and scans products for accuracy
  • Alerts the pharmacist of scanning issues with products
  • Maintains workstation areas and replenishes stock supplies
  • Complies with all applicable government regulations including HIPPA
  • Adheres to departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Active Florida Pharmacy Technician License
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (preferred)
