Overview

The Pharmacy Manager at Genoa Healthcare, part of Optum, is pivotal in providing pharmaceutical care services within community behavioral health and addiction treatment settings. This role combines financial, clinical, and operational oversight, ensuring the effective management of pharmacy operations and staff development, while enhancing patient engagement and education on medication usage.

Key responsibilities

  • Create a positive experience for consumers and clinic partners
  • Serve as an expert resource for clinical staff to achieve clinical outcomes
  • Counsel and educate patients on medications and adverse effects
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws
  • Perform wellness services such as immunizations and preventive care
  • Drive financial profitability and identify growth opportunities
  • Coach and develop pharmacy staff to maximize potential
  • Build relationships with community stakeholders and clinic partners
  • Implement marketing plans for pharmacy offerings
  • Conduct workforce and business planning for operational excellence

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
  • Current pharmacist license in Indiana
  • Certified immunizer or willingness to obtain certification
  • Access to reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • 3+ years of pharmacy leadership experience (preferred)
  • Authorization to administer long-acting injectables (preferred)
