Overview

The Pharmacy Call Center Agent role at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic involves managing non-professional phone inquiries and facilitating communication for the pharmacy's services. The position supports a healthcare organization focused on community health and offers a range of services beyond traditional medical care.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle incoming and outgoing phone inquiries
  • Transfer calls to appropriate staff
  • Update patient demographic information in EMR
  • Provide information on business hours, delivery services, and prescription status
  • Promote and educate patients on pharmacy services
  • Complete third-party rebilling and insurance authorization
  • Act as a liaison between staff and supervisors
  • Train new employees and perform quality audits

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of relevant experience in pharmacy assistance, customer service, or call center operations
  • Pharmacy Assistant state registration within 60 days of employment
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish required at a level 9
  • Knowledge of medical billing and terminology preferred
  • Effective communication and customer relations skills
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
