Overview

The Pharmacy Call Center Agent at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic is a full-time relief position based in Selah, Washington. This role involves assisting patients by handling phone inquiries, managing patient records, and promoting pharmacy services in a community-focused healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle incoming and outgoing non-professional level phone inquiries
  • Update patient demographic information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Respond to inquiries regarding business hours, delivery services, and prescription status
  • Ensure successful enrollment of mail-order patients
  • Promote and educate patients on pharmacy services
  • Complete third-party rebilling processes and contact insurance companies for authorization
  • Act as a liaison between staff and supervisor when performing lead duties
  • Manage breaks, lunches, sick calls, and overtime
  • Provide training to new employees and existing staff
  • Perform quality audits as directed

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in pharmacy assistant, office, administrative, patient care, call center, or customer service rol
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish at a level 9
  • Knowledge of medical billing and terminology preferred
  • Effective communication and customer relations skills
  • Conflict resolution abilities and teamwork proficiency
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Multitasking capabilities and attention to detail
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Pharmacy Assistant state registration within 60 days of employment
