Overview

The Pharmacy Call Center Agent plays a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy operations at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, facilitating effective communication with patients and staff. This position is part of a healthcare organization dedicated to providing comprehensive services across the Pacific Northwest, focusing on community health and well-being.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle incoming and outgoing non-professional level phone inquiries
  • Update patient demographic information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Respond to inquiries about business hours, delivery services, and prescription status
  • Ensure successful enrollment of mail-order patients
  • Promote and educate patients on pharmacy services and processes
  • Complete third-party rebilling processes and contact insurance companies
  • Perform lead duties and manage staff breaks, lunches, and sick calls
  • Provide training to new employees and existing staff
  • Conduct quality audits as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in pharmacy assistant, office, administrative, patient care, call center or customer service
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required at a level 9
  • Knowledge of medical billing and terminology preferred
  • Effective communication and customer relations skills
  • Conflict resolution and teamwork proficiency
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
