Overview

The Pharmacy Call Center Agent at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic plays a vital role in supporting the pharmacy operations in a community health center that provides multifaceted healthcare services. This position involves handling inquiries, managing patient information, and promoting pharmacy services within a fast-paced environment in Toppenish, Washington.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle incoming and outgoing phone inquiries and transfer calls
  • Update patient demographic information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Respond to inquiries about business hours, delivery services, and prescription status
  • Ensure successful enrollment of mail-order patients
  • Promote and educate patients on pharmacy services, including mail order and auto-refill
  • Complete third-party rebilling and contact insurance companies for authorization
  • Act as a liaison for staff and supervisor, managing breaks and overtime
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
  • Perform quality audits as directed
  • Complete other assigned duties

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of pharmacy assistant, customer service, or call center experience
  • Pharmacy Assistant state registration within 60 days of employment
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • Knowledge of medical billing and terminology preferred
  • Effective communication and customer relations skills
  • Conflict resolution abilities and teamwork proficiency
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Multitasking capabilities and attention to detail
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
