Overview

The Relief Pharmacy Call Center Agent at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic will handle incoming and outgoing phone inquiries while providing excellent customer service in a healthcare setting. This role also involves updating patient information in the Electronic Medical Record and educating patients on pharmacy services.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle incoming and outgoing non-professional level phone inquiries
  • Transfer calls to appropriate staff
  • Update patient demographic information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Respond to inquiries about business hours, delivery services, prescription status, and refill availability
  • Ensure newly enrolled mail-order patients are successfully signed up
  • Promote and educate patients on all pharmacy services
  • Complete third-party rebilling process and contact insurance companies for authorization
  • Act as a liaison between staff and supervisors, managing breaks and overtime
  • Provide training to new employees and perform quality audits

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of pharmacy assistant, office, administrative, patient care, call center or customer service experience
  • Pharmacy Assistant state registration within 60 days of employment
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish required
  • Knowledge of medical billing and terminology preferred
  • Effective communication and customer relations skills
  • Conflict resolution abilities and teamwork proficiency
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Basic 10-key proficiency
