Overview

Puma Biotechnology, Inc. is looking for a Pharmacovigilance Associate to join their team in Los Angeles. The role requires 1-2 years of experience in pharmacovigilance and expertise in safety databases, focusing on case processing and safety operations to ensure compliance with global regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Process adverse events and special situation cases in the safety database.
  • Perform medical coding using MedDRA and WHO Drug dictionaries.
  • Ensure timely regulatory reporting and distribution activities.
  • Conduct case quality control and resolve data queries.
  • Support safety database activities including data cleaning and workflow monitoring.
  • Reconcile safety data with clinical and medical information sources.
  • Track operational metrics and propose process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for case follow-up and query resolutions.
  • Maintain documentation for inspections and audits.
  • Contribute to the improvement of pharmacovigilance processes.

Required skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in drug safety/pharmacovigilance.
  • Expert proficiency in safety databases.
  • Knowledge of global PV regulations and guidelines.
  • Experience with medical coding conventions.
  • Strong attention to detail and data integrity.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing, public health, or related field.
