Overview

Optum is seeking a Pharmacist for its Home Infusion team in Bend, Oregon. In this role, you will connect patients to care and pharmacy benefits while collaborating with a clinical and pharmacy operations team to improve health outcomes. You'll primarily be involved in therapy assessment, care planning, and ensuring the safe dispensing of infusion and specialty medications.

Key responsibilities

  • Review medication orders for appropriateness and completeness
  • Verify all prescriptions not directly received from the prescriber
  • Provide oversight of pharmaceutical care provided to patients
  • Assess patients at the initiation of drug therapy and develop care plans
  • Communicate with healthcare team about patient status and therapy response
  • Compound intravenous and specialty pharmaceuticals according to guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, DEA, and state regulations
  • Provide indirect oversight of pharmacy technicians and support staff

Required skills

  • BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D degree
  • Oregon pharmacist license in good standing or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • 1+ years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist in healthcare
  • Solid drug product and clinical pharmacy knowledge
  • Knowledgeable in infusion related therapies and medication orders
  • Ability to navigate MS Office, especially Word and Outlook
  • Flexible schedule and ability to be on call
