Overview

As a Pet Groomer at PetSmart in Shallotte, North Carolina, you will engage with pet parents and their pets, providing top-notch grooming services while ensuring cleanliness and pet health standards. You will play a vital role in creating meaningful experiences for pets and their families, contributing to the store’s sales targets and overall success.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform a full menu of grooming services including bathing, brushing, nail trims, and teeth brushing.
  • Recommend health and wellness solutions based on pets' needs.
  • Manage the pet parent experience through in-person interactions, phone calls, and during the sales process.
  • Conduct salon appointment reminder calls and maintain client records.
  • Check-in and check-out grooming appointments, including necessary paperwork.
  • Promote salon sales and achieve productivity targets.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the grooming area.
  • Take action when identifying sick or injured pets.
  • Assist in other departments as required.

Required skills

  • Prior grooming experience or completion of PetSmart's Salon Academy training.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical capability to lift and move heavy weights and work in a varied environment.
