Overview

Heuser & Heuser, LLP is seeking a Personal Injury Paralegal for their downtown Colorado Springs office. This pre-litigation role involves managing cases from intake through settlement, focusing on client communication and case organization in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide legal assistance at family settlement meetings and mediations
  • Create legal pleadings, communications, and documents under attorney supervision
  • Assist with trial preparation and client meetings
  • Manage an active pre-litigation caseload and track all deadlines
  • Draft correspondence and settlement demand packages
  • Review health insurance and MedPay ledgers
  • Serve as the client's primary point of contact throughout the pre-litigation phase
  • Request and organize medical records and evidentiary documents
  • Communicate with insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and medical providers
  • File and manage case documents and support tasks assigned by attorneys

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in legal services under an attorney
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience in personal injury law
  • Legal research and document drafting
  • Client communication and insurance claims processing
