Overview

The Personal Injury Billing and Collections Representative at Progressive Spine and Orthopaedics LLC is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of billing, collections, lien follow-up, and settlement recovery for personal injury medical claims. This role involves close interaction with attorneys, insurance adjusters, patients, and internal billing teams to ensure accurate documentation and timely resolution of accounts.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage personal injury billing and collections including liens and settlements
  • Communicate with attorneys, law firms, insurance adjusters, and patients regarding case status
  • Track personal injury claims from service date to settlement
  • Ensure accurate billing for injury-related services
  • Submit necessary documentation to attorneys and insurance carriers
  • Maintain communication with attorneys regarding cases and settlements
  • Investigate and negotiate on unpaid accounts or disputes
  • Communicate with patients about balances and billing questions
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities
  • Reconcile payments against outstanding balances

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience
  • Strong personal injury billing experience
  • Experience with attorneys, liens, and settlement payments
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience with medical billing software and EHR systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
