Overview

Heuser & Heuser, LLP is seeking a Personal Injury Attorney to represent injured clients from case opening through resolution or handoff to litigation. The role focuses on building cases, guiding clients through treatment, and negotiating outcomes, with direct mentorship from senior attorneys and partners. Prior personal injury experience is not necessary, but strong judgment and client communication skills are essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to establish case details and needs
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients during pre-litigation phase
  • Conduct site inspections and collaborate with intake team on client evaluations
  • Assess liability and damages across personal injury practice areas
  • Conduct legal research to develop claim strategies
  • Gather and analyze medical records and other case documentation
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and defense attorneys
  • Draft settlement demands and evaluate settlement offers
  • Coordinate case handoff to litigation department if necessary
  • Supervise and mentor paralegals and legal assistants
  • Maintain accurate case records in the firm's case management platform

Required skills

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Colorado
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Familiarity with case management software and AI-assisted legal tools
  • Empathy for clients and a client-first approach
