Overview

Heuser & Heuser, LLP is seeking a Personal Injury Attorney to join their team in Colorado Springs. This role focuses on representing injured clients during the pre-litigation phase, where the attorney will build cases, guide clients, and negotiate fair outcomes, all while benefiting from mentorship from senior attorneys.

Key responsibilities

  • Meet with new and prospective clients to establish clear accounts of their cases
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the pre-litigation phase
  • Conduct site inspections and collaborate with the intake team for case evaluations
  • Assess liability and damages for various personal injury practice areas
  • Conduct legal research and gather supporting documentation for claims
  • Coordinate with experts to strengthen case foundations
  • Draft settlement demands and negotiate with insurance adjusters
  • Coordinate handoffs to the litigation department when necessary
  • Supervise and mentor paralegals and legal assistants
  • Maintain accurate case records and manage timelines diligently

Required skills

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Colorado or eligible for transfer
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Effective communication skills for complex issues
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Familiarity with case management software and AI-assisted legal tools
  • Empathy for injured clients and a client-first approach
