Job Description

Overview

The Peripheral Vascular Tech at OhioHealth is responsible for performing non-invasive diagnostic procedures in the Vascular Lab to detect various peripheral vascular diseases. This role includes analyzing test data, generating preliminary reports, and training non-registered technologists and vascular ultrasound students on testing techniques.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform non-invasive peripheral vascular diagnostic examinations as ordered by physicians
  • Evaluate test results and correlate with patient history and previous examinations
  • Analyze data and generate preliminary reports for physicians
  • Train new Associate Technologists and Vascular Technology Students
  • Provide outstanding service to both external and internal customers
  • Maintain equipment, stock supplies, and perform quality control procedures
  • Document all aspects of patient care accurately

Required skills

  • High School or GED
  • ARDMS certification
  • BLS certification
  • 1-2 years ultrasound training
  • 1-2 years previous ultrasound experience
  • Knowledge of vascular ultrasound and diagnostic imaging
  • Proficient in patient care and medical terminology
  • Strong communication skills
