Overview

Klamath Basin Behavioral Health is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist for their Substance Use Disorder Services team in Klamath Falls, Oregon. This role focuses on offering insight and empathy to individuals affected by substance use disorders, helping them build stability and independence through personal recovery experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Build trusted, supportive relationships with peers in various settings.
  • Provide emotional support during clinic visits to empower clients.
  • Facilitate or co-lead peer support groups.
  • Support peers in setting and achieving recovery goals.
  • Connect peers to community resources for long-term stability.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to meet compliance standards.

Required skills

  • Certified Peer Support Specialist Addiction certification
  • Experience receiving mental health services or recovering from substance use disorder
  • Registration as a Traditional Health Care Worker in Oregon
  • Completed OHA approved 40-hour Peer Support Specialist Training
  • Valid Oregon driver's license
