Overview

Klamath Basin Behavioral Health is seeking a Peer Support Specialist for their Substance Use Disorder Services (SUDS) team in Klamath Falls, Oregon. This full-time role involves utilizing personal recovery experience to support individuals affected by substance use disorders, promoting recovery, and enhancing their overall wellbeing. The position includes providing emotional support, facilitating peer support groups, and connecting peers to community resources.

Key responsibilities

  • Build supportive relationships with peers in various settings
  • Provide emotional support during clinic visits
  • Facilitate peer support groups for growth and connection
  • Assist peers in setting and achieving recovery goals
  • Ensure ongoing connection to community resources
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with requirements

Required skills

  • Oregon Health Authority Certified Peer Support Specialist Addiction certification
  • Experience with mental health services or personal recovery from substance use disorder
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical behavior
  • Valid Oregon driver's license and insurable driving record
