Overview

The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School is seeking experienced pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists to join the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. This role focuses on providing direct care to patients undergoing cardiac surgery and contributing to the development of care protocols and quality improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct care to pediatric patients before, during, and after cardiac surgery
  • Develop and implement care protocols for pediatric cardiac anesthesia
  • Oversee quality improvement registries relevant to Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia
  • Participate in educational activities with medical students and residents
  • Engage in coordinated outreach efforts for the center
  • Contribute to clinical research initiatives and program development

Required skills

  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certified in Anesthesia and Pediatric Anesthesia
  • Additional formal training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas
  • Demonstrated clinical teaching and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate others at all professional levels
  • Innovative self-starter with commitment to excellence
