Title: Payroll SupervisorFor a complete understanding of this opportunity, and what will be required to be a successful applicant, read on.Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000Location: San Diego (hybrid, 80-90% onsite)Overview:Seeking a Payroll Supervisor to lead end-to-end payroll operations in a complex, multi-entity environment. This role oversees payroll processing across salaried, hourly, and stipend-based populations while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and international payroll regulations.Key Responsibilities:Oversee full-cycle payroll processing with a focus on accuracy and timelinessManage and mentor payroll staff, including training and performance oversightEnsure compliance across multi-state payroll and applicable tax regulationsReview payroll inputs including timekeeping, compensation changes, and deductionsPartner cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies and support employee inquiriesLead payroll audits and maintain data integrity within payroll systemsSupport reporting and continuous process improvementsOversee payroll compliance for foreign national workforce, including specialized tax reportingMaintain international tax systems and related documentation processes Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory roleStrong understanding of payroll compliance and regulationsExperience with payroll systems such as Workday, UKG, or similarAdvanced Excel proficiencyStrong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlinesExcellent communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related fieldCertified Payroll Professional (CPP)Experience with multi-state and/or international payrollExposure to complex or global payroll environments Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
