Pay Range $65,500.00-$90,100.00 AnnualThis is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus. Internal candidate can be based out of a plant location. The purpose of the Payroll Specialist's role is to assist with ensuring payroll related activities are processed timely and in accordance with JM's payroll processing schedule while providing HR, payroll, tax and benefits transactional support to the organization. Your Day to Day:Ensure accurate and timely data/file transfers from Client to third party vendors according to the operating schedule and resolve any errorsAssist with the reconciliation of payroll payments, wages, deductions, and applicable adjustments to ensure accuracy and compliancePerform data entry for payroll, benefits and HR transactionsSupport maintaining the validity and integrity of payroll system data and ensure all payroll and tax transactions are compliant with Federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policy, processes and practicesResearch issues and provide recommendations for resolution/correction related to payroll processing activities and outputs (checks, reports, files)Stay up to date with tax laws and employment regulations.Execute and respond to audit requestsUpdate payroll, tax and HR process documentation as directedManage payroll inbox and respond to inquiriesPerform compliance activities for unclaimed property payroll checksDevelop and run reports to support plants and other groups within the organizationPartner with internal teams to identify process improvementsSupport the leave of absence adjustments related to payrollManage unemployment for local and support field inquiriesManages daily mail, intaking and delivering incoming and managing all outgoingProcess/support all court orders to include and not limited to garnishment and tax levy's in ADPBack up to Time and Labor specialistSupport transactional processing for Corporate as neededCreate and deliver training as necessaryMay be required to perform other related duties as assignedWhat You Bring to the Team:Bachelor's degree with 3 years' experience or minimum of 5 years' multi-State payroll experience including taxes and garnishments, pay calculations, multi-state taxation rules, wage and hour laws and functional payroll processing.1-year experience in a manufacturing (hourly and salary) union environment preferred.Payroll certification preferred or willing to obtain within next two years.Solid understanding of payroll compliance regulationsOutsourcing experience preferred.Trustworthy with attention to confidentialitySolid interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, OutlookStrong problem resolution skillsSolid project coordination skillsSolid customer service skillsFamiliarity with accounting principlesStrong attention to detailAbility to work independently and in a team environmentMay be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 poundsMinimal travel requi
